Focusing strictly on events and the entertainment/hospitality industries, the site offers easy to follow event calendars in several categories: Kids and Family Events, Night Life Events, Seasonal/Holiday Events, and Charity Events. In addition to the calendars, WhatsDoingLI.com also offers a showcase gallery of service providers for it's visitors. Large thumbnails gives the visitor a "sneak peek" view of the service provider,  while rolling over the thumbnail produces a direct link to the provider's website as well as a link to a detail page for more info and larger image.

The site also offers additional features such as movie listings, local weather, news articles, polls, and more. Those registering to "Be A VIP" will also have access to free downloadable content not available without a membership. Registration is free for all to join.

Service providers in the entertainment and hospitality industries wishing to join the directory can do so by submitting a simple form and paying a low cost subscription fee, allowing not only larger corporations but small businesses and individuals to afford direct marketing to their target consumer.

In an effort to give back to the community, WhatsDoingLI.com also offers Not-For-Profit charitable organizations free directory listings as well as their own calendar to announce their events.
