You may need to wiggle the knife into the crease by motioning it from side to side. All power supplies will have a top and bottom casing that can be separated (PC and Apple).
3. Tap the knife with the hammer three to five times until you feel the case start to loosen. You may need to apply a little force with each tap.
4. Flip the HP Pavilion DV4000 AC Adapter over and repeat Step 4 on each additional side. On the second side, you will feel the case open up slightly. By the fourth side, the case should loosen up and you may hear a pop.
