“My solo work is the other side of the coin to an often misconceived career” says singer-songwriter Cy Curnin. With songs culled from his most recent solo release, “Solar Minimum” as well as many recognizable tunes from his long and storied musical career, Curnin is about to embark on his very first solo tour, a nearly month-long acoustic trek across North America
Recently, in addition to his celebrated role as lead singer for the The Fixx, Curnin has also been active in the Love, Hope, Strength Foundation, where along with other world-class musicians and supporters, he has climbed some of the most famous peaks on earth while raising money to help support cancer survivors around the globe.
It was on one of these trips that Curnin was inspired to follow a path of his own. “After having returned from Mount Everest I realized how small I was in the big scheme of things. Singing songs solo with that backdrop encouraged me to follow with a small, intimate version in front of people back in the ‘too real’ world”.
Curnin is joined along on these shows by multi-talented guitarist Nick Harper. “His emotional source comes from the same place as mine.” Says Curnin, “he's taught me a lot about musical honesty and how to be boldly simple”.
Tickets are now available at the usual outlets or at the venue box office.
