November 1, 2009 - New Hope PA, The First Annual Autumn Arts Painting

Nov. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- They discussed how creating an online art competition on Facebook would benefit so many artists at all levels of skill. They decided to proceed into what has become a tremendous success that none of them ever expected.

The competition rules were that all paintings MUST BE NEW & ORIGINAL WORKS of ART painted during the month of October, 2009. Art works may be representational, impressionistic or abstract.
Paintings must have been created without the aid of a teacher and not done in a workshop or any usage of someone else's photographs or magazine/book photographs. They must be totally of the artist's own idea & concept from beginning to completion.
Entries had to be posted by October 31, 2009. ONLY three (3) submissions per artist, and no entry fee was required this year being the first.

More than 1050 artists joined the Facebook group, and over 900 entries were received internationally. After seeing what a fantastic response this group was getting, and the amount of artist’s that joined and entered the group, Howard Cooperman owner of the Bucks County Gallery of Fine Art decided to bring the competition to new levels. Cooperman offered to hold an exhibit at the New Hope PA. gallery in February or March 2010. The exhibit will feature about 30 winning paintings in various categories, that will soon be announced.

Prizes were also generously donated by several art and framing supply companies in support of the event.

The categories are as follows:

A Judges Award will be awarded for " Best of Show."
1st, 2nd and 3rd .... Oils & Acrylics
1st, 2nd and 3rd .... Pastels
1st, 2nd and 3rd .... Watercolours
1st, 2nd and 3rd .... Mixed Media
AND 8 Honorable Mentions
