What happening?

Three weeks ago, the Buffalo Bills left Ralph Wilson Stadium after an ugly 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns looking every bit like a 1-4 football team. Dick Jauron, the Bills' embattled head coach, had roamed the sideline in front of fed-up fans who hoped they wouldn't have to endure him any longer. But Jauron is still the coach, and the Bills are on a two-game winning streak. Granted, those victories benefited from dreadful opposing quarterback performances, but they were wins nonetheless.

What happening?

The Houston Texans also have won two straight and are above .500 through seven games (4-3) for only the second time in franchise history. The way quarterback Matt Schaub is playing (he leads the league with 2,074 yards passing and 16 touchdowns), they could have their first winning season. The Texans could be weakened if a bruised lung keeps All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson out of the game. If he can play, Schaub will have another weapon to go with running back Steve Slaton and tight end Owen Daniels.

What happening?

The Bills are 2-0 since Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced injured QB Trent Edwards, but the offense struggled in both games. If the defense continues its ballhawking ways, the Bills will enter the bye week feeling like a contender, and that hot seat Jauron has been sitting on will cool off a bit.
