Artists in Oils - an open directory for artist-relevant internet resources
Recently launched internet directory "Artists in Oils" has announced that it is offering free listings to the visual arts community to help artists and related resources enhance their visibility on the internet.
Artists in Oils - http://www.artistsinoils.com - is a free resource directory of web links relevant to artists in oil meda charges no fees for this service. Unlike most internet directories, Artists in Oils does not require reciprocal web links (also known as linkbacks) or newsletter subscription in order to be listed. Adding listings to this directory is completely free and open to artists and related sites.
A listing at Artists in Oils includes much more than just a link and a snippet of text. The service provides an complete individual web page for each artist listing, containing information specific to the artist. Artists can indicate their preferred media, subject matter and artistic style, a substantial description in freeform text, the city and country they hail from and even a photo (or logo) of their work. A listing in "Artists in Oils" essentially provides a free page of internet classified advertising for free.
In addition to lstings for Individual Artists, Artists in Oils has separate categories for listing Artist's Galleries (for individual artists), Art Organizations (for artist groups), Galleries and Dealers (for multiple artist galleries and dealers in fine art), Art Instruction (for teachers, instructors and schools) and Art Musuems.
Other art related internet resource directories relevant to artists working in oil media are also listed. One category conveniently lists places where artists can include their links being free of any costs or reciprocal requirements (similar to Artists in Oils). A separate category includes artist relevant directories that are not completely free. These listings indicate if fees, reciprocal linking or both is required in order to be listed.
