Artist, writer and archeologist Jim Miller's paintings originate from personal photographs, then he recreates them. He has coined this method as "photo expressionism"
Mr. Miller's past life's experiences make a good history read in itself. He once lived the quiet monastic life at St. Vincent's Benedictine Monastery; after that he took off for New York City to study art; returned to Pennsylvania, started an art commune in an old converted glass factory; lived as the artist-in-residence in the historical home of deceased well-known artist Malcom Parcell, while working on local archeological digs in Washington County.
Mr. Miller is presently working on a book, Miller's Illustrated, Industrial-Strength Metaphysics . It is a comment on the gods of organized religion, and a project to pose a metaphysical alternative. He uses his life as a vehicle to tell a story of what he has have learned, and is still learning, about the 'beyond the physical' realm in the course of his life.
