Oct. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Mobile phone manufacturer giants Vodafone recently released the world’s first Linux-powered handsets with the Vodafone 360 M1 and Vodafone 360 H1 hitting the shelves for UK consumers. Both the 360 M1 and the 360 H1 pack a real punch despite their incredibly featherweight design.

The 360 H1 boasts a 3.5” AMOLED touch-screen, while its younger brother, the 360 M1 provides a 3.2” TFT screen that is somewhat more common with the latest smartphones. Both handsets are supplied by Samsung, with a combination between Vodafone, Samsung and Linux providing expertise in features, support, manufacturing and software development.

Multimedia lovers can salivate at the features of the 360 H1, with its 5.0 megapixel digital camera complete with autofocus – and with 16GB of internal memory users will struggle to fill their Vodafone mobile phone with data.

In terms of both hardware and software, Vodafone’s innovative Linux mobile phones are an exciting addition to the high street. Android certainly needs to be ready for the impact that the Linux operating system is likely to make, with consumers now spoilt for choice for revolutionary, affordable smartphones.

The Vodafone 360 M1 is considerably lighter than its sibling, weighing in at a measly 111g. The 360 M1 is undoubtedly the watered down version of the 360 H1, with a reduced 3.0 megapixel digital camera and no in-built Wi-Fi support. Nevertheless, it remains a legitimately affordable option for smartphone users on a budget.
