Oct. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Cyprus promise for Limassol Marathon GSO to be a truly international quality event.

The Limassol International Marathon GSO, taking place on the 28th February 2010, is the only IAAF and AIMS accredited Marathon race on the island, and is also the official Marathon Race of the Cyprus Sports Association (KOEAS).

It is expected to be a truly international event, certain to attract thousands of people from Cyprus and abroad.

The promise was given by the Organisers’ Managing Director, enthusiastic Mr Spyros Spyrou at the official Press Conference in Limassol’s City Hall on Wednesday 21st October 2009. Spyrou was supported at the press conference by GSO Chairman, the Mayor of Limassol, the Chairman of Cyprus’ Tourist Organisation, the city’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman, and the representative of the Minister of Health who has placed the Marathon Race under his auspices.

The authorities of Cyprus have all joined forces and are providing their full support to the organizers, Olympus Event Management and the company’s ‘soul’ Spyros Spyrou who is highly regarded for his experience and proven record in creating spectacular events.
The event will consist of four races: The Marathon Race, the Half Marathon Race, the 10 Km Race and the 2Km Kids Fun Run.

The organizers promise concerns a professionally organized event abiding by the highest international standards. As they say, the event will be a memorable one, not only for its high sports specifications but also because of the whole atmosphere that will be created by the various events that are planned to run parallel to the race.

This is undoubtedly expected to bring the Limassolians and not only, to the streets either for taking part in the various races, especially the 10Km race or for cheering up and support the athletes who will participate.
