Clip-Money.com has taken the standard titanium money clip and by simply adding a 5mm (1/4”) hole at the bottom edge it is now useful to use as a pocket hanger for keys, flashlights, or pocket tools carried every day. Attaching a split ring to the money clip is all that is necessary. While many pocket knives do come with built in clips to slide over a pocket these put the knife too high for comfort and also make it more visible which can upset some people.
Clip-Money has also produced a larger titanium money clip that has wings to keep credit cards from sliding around. Just slightly larger than a standard credit card and with a low magnetic signature that will not affect the magnetic stripes this is considerably more effective than any standard clip design. With a thickness, without cards and money clipped in, of only 9mm (3/8”) this new design will slide into the tightest of jeans.
Titanium is more difficult to machine than aluminum or stainless steel which has limited the number of affordable products that could benefit from the lightness and hypoallergenic properties of Titanium alloys. Money-Clip.com has produced a 40mm (1.6 inch) tall small whistle that could go on a key chain or hang on a necklace as a pendant. They have even sourced some Titanium Ball Chain that has balls 3mm in size where standard stainless steel ball chains are 2mm. This makes a stronger and more attractive necklace and the chain can be easily cut in smaller lengths for key or other small chains.
The final product in clip-money’s new offerings is a Titanium Pill Container or Money Stash. At 75mm (3”) in height and only 13mm (1/2”) in diameter this waterproof container could be used on a key chain or as a pendant.
Titanium is about 45% lighter than steel with similar strength and far greater corrosion resistance. The low magnetic signature does not set off most metal detectors. The most common consumer products using Titanium alloys are watches and eyeglass frames. Clip-Money.com and other small manufacturers are making new designs available to take advantage of Titanium’s properties and it is becoming a fashionable alternative to Silver and even Gold Jewelry.
