PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 29, 2009 -
Port Orange, FL.  Photo Scanning Price Leader Nickelscan.com’s President  Pete Fontaine has issued a warning to those who are reorganizing or scanning their photos.  “It is imperative that you don’t write on your photographs with any product that can bleed through or rub off on another photograph’s surface,” Fontaine says. “In these tough times people are turning to conserving and protecting the valuable things that they have.  Having their photos digitized is a way of preserving the memory of wonderful times and wonderful people.  We scan hundreds of thousands of photos here at NickelScan and every once in a while someone uses a pen to write notes on the backs of their photos.  If the ink doesn’t dry then it ruins the surface of the photo it is stacked on.”
Fontaine doesn’t want people to worry about photos with ink already on them.  “If you’ve got older photos with writing in ink already on them then don’t worry its dry and not a problem.  But if you are going to write on your photos for whatever reason make sure to use a pencil or some specialized product specifically designed for writing on photographs."
