Bob’s Place Restaurant has announced that Gabriel Moroianu has been named the restaurant’s new general manager. As general manager, Mr. Moroianu will be in charge of the restaurant’s business operations. He previously served as general manager for Brivo in East Hills.
Mr. Moroianu, who resides in Sunnyside, Queens, began his restaurant career in 1992 as a server and floor manager at Harry Cipriani in New York. He later worked as a general manager at The Green Room in New York and Cipollini in Manhasset.
In 1995, Mr. Moroianu graduated from Dunarea de Jos University in Braila, Romania, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management at the New York City College of Technology. In addition, he is a certified sommelier.

Bob’s Place Restaurant has also announced that Rody Carrillo has been named the restaurant’s new manager. He has been with the restaurant since March 2009. He previously served as the restaurant’s maitre d’ and floor manager.
Prior to working at Bob’s Place, Mr. Carrillo, a Huntington resident, worked as a maitre d’ and floor manager at Café Diane in Woodbury for two years. After receiving food and beverage training from New School University in 2001, he began his career as a food server at The Odeon in New York. He was also manager and maitre d’ at Café Rosso in New York, and floor manager at Patagonia West Restaurant in Westhampton.
In addition to working as a floor manager and maitre d’ at Bob’s Place, Mr. Carrillo held the same positions at Opia Restaurant and Lounge in New York, Spice Market in New York, and Cipollini in Manhasset. He is a 1993 graduate of Instituto Antonio Jose de Sucre in Mérida, Venezuela, where he received a degree in hotel and restaurant management.
