In this world flooded with commercials and highly optimized internet marketing, it’s hard to resist the tempting invites from scam ads blinking on your screen. While most companies these days just tell only “half the truth” in what they call “true advertising”
1. Your common sense will save you a lot of money. Yes, you read it right! Common sense is the common solution for scammers. Try to research and find reviews about the product before you buy it. Ask around. Don’t trust right away what is written on your screen. Those are just merely ad scripts to lure you in clicking their page. And by clicking their website, you just helped them earn a buck ….or even more!
2. Never send wire funds to an account you don’t know. Lottery, prize winnings and other phone offers are just some too good to be true schemes. If someone asks you to send some money to claim an inheritance, product or offer, don’t do it. Just think about this, if this inheritance stuff were true, then everybody’s going to be rich!
3. Don’t give away your credit information to some stranger. Most scam sites steal credit card numbers, information and details. Guess what’s worse; you can be an easy target of identity thieves! They can max out your credit limit and buy expensive stuff…in just one click!
These days, internet advertisements have gone overboard in trying to optimize their sites by claiming that other products are scams except for the one they’re promoting. Not only that, they get away by offering discounts and freebies only to find out they are not “totally” free! So the next time you click that ad remember this “If it is too good to be true … it probably is!”
