Rocket Matter’s Founding Partner Speaks at Avvo Tour

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 29, 2009 - BOCA RATON, FL – Rocket Matter®, the leading Web-based legal practice management and time and billing solution for small to mid-sized law firms, today announced that Larry Port, company Founding Partner and Chief Software Architect, spoke as a featured guest at the Avvo Tour “Among the Experts: Online Marketing for Lawyers” in Miami and West Palm Beach this week.  The event was aimed at practicing attorneys and Port spoke to them on the topic of “Running an Efficient and Error Free Law Firm.”

“I was honored to be asked by Avvo to speak to their audience about my experiences with helping law firms run more efficiently and with less errors,” stated Port. “Lawyers need to start thinking differently.  Twelve extra minutes of billable time per day can mean thousands of extra dollars yearly, and being error-free can change a practice. After all, errors, especially in the legal industry, can mean big trouble.”

Port’s discussion focused on how small law firms can run more efficiently and with less potential errors, leading to more billable time and the reduced risk of malpractice. He discussed how ideas from software and manufacturing industries, such as Agile Software Development and the Getting Things Done (GTD) system can provide practical and simple techniques that can be started today to bring a practice to a new level of productivity and efficiency.

The conference was attended by practicing South Florida attorneys from various firm sizes and practice areas. Legal marketing expert Mark Merenda, noted criminal defense blogger Brian Tannebaum, and Avvo founder Mark Britton spoke as well.
