Conference key facts:
- 85 attendees from 16 countries
- 23 presentations divided into plenary sessions and 2 parallel streams in the afternoon of
day 2
- Attendees including Sony, Sharp Laboratories of Europe, Kodak, Motorola, Aptina,
SCHOTT, Dalsa, BBC Research and many others
The conference, chaired by Lindsay Grant of ST MICROELECTRONICS and Dr Edoardo Charbon of DELFT UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, was focussed on business as well as high-tech developments in the field.
The first day examined market trends and drivers for image sensors with a focus on consumer products and presentations from Eastman Kodak, Aptina, Dalsa Professional Imaging. Aptina’s talk also featured a live demonstration on dewarping and perspective correction on a sensor SOC. In the afternoon, camera phone markets were analysed, followed by talks from DXO Labs and Sypro Optics on developments in peripheral systems and processing for image sensors.
The plenary session on day 2 discussed market trends and drivers for image sensors with a focus on the industrial sector, including presentations from BBC Research and Innovation and Cypress Semiconductor. Afternoon tracks focused on technical developments for image sensors in emerging applications and pushing the boundaries in image sensor applications. These tracks featured presentations from Robert Bosch, Delft University of Technology and Oxford University.
The 2010 edition of this successful event will again be held at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in London on 23-25 March. Conference Producer, Robert Stead said: "Despite a slowdown in the semiconductor industry, image sensor technology is remaining strong, buoyed by demand in key sectors such as camera phones and computing peripherals. ISE2010 will cater for both - consumer markets and industrial application sectors. The conference will cover machine vision, military, automotive, surveillance and many other end uses with tracked sessions separating consumer and industrial-based presentations. We also plan to grow the exhibition and establish Image Sensors Europe as the number one event for the industry." Further details will be released at www.image-sensors.com in the coming months.
