Oct. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Children of all ages are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal or doll for evaluation and treatment by doctors, nurses and other health professionals at White Plains Hospital Center’s FREE Ted E. Bear Hospital on Saturday, November 21st from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

The Ted E. Bear Hospital will give children a chance to familiarize themselves with the happenings of an Emergency Department, as well as hospital staff and procedures. Organized by White Plains Hospital nurses, this "Stuffed Animal Hospital" will teach kids about healthcare in a fun, positive way, alleviating fears of the emergency room.

Bears and other fuzzy patients will receive bandage treatments and general check-ups. The Ted E. Bear Hospital will also offer the community a sneak peek of the Hospital’s new Emergency Department, which will be completed early next year. It will feature many patient-friendly amenities and a separate Pediatric Treatment area.

The Ted E. Bear Hospital is BYOB (Bring Your Own Stuffed Bear). Stuffed animals will be provided to those who do not have their own; however, there is a limited supply. There will be a lot to do and learn including free and valuable information on a variety of children's safety topics. NY Life Insurance Company will be on hand providing free digital child ID's with fingerprints. For more information or to reserve a spot, please call 681-2650. Reservations are strongly encouraged.
