A new political medium is born. MyStatesBook.com is a new website where American Citizens can Discuss, Research, and Vote on Issues affecting the Nation. All of the website's visitors can participate in public opinion polls and read the discussion forums. Registered members have the ability to participate in a more meaningful way, by contributing to the discussion forums, or even hosting their own live 'radio' show, with the ability to take calls from listeners around the nation. All of the content on MyStatesBook is user generated, so as more members participate, the more meaningful the discussion becomes, and the clearer their voices will be heard in the Capitol!
Issues will be presented for registered members to voice their opinions on a state and federal level, in conjunction with a voting process that mimics the real thing. The polls will open and close at specified times. Registered members will be able to vote from the comfort of their home, office, or any other place with internet access. After the MyStatesBook poll closes, all votes will be tallied and the results will be submitted via press release to the media. The MyStatesBook member's votes offer a way to place pressure on their elected representatives to help them understand what matters to their constituency.
MyStatesBook will post voting records on the significant issues, both to help the American citizens learn how their elected officials voted, and to help their elected officials learn how their constituency voted. MyStatesBook wishes to be recognized as a legitimate voice of the people, so they only allow registered US voters to become members. MyStatesBook hopes that their website will entice more people to get involved in the political process, learn the issues, and register to vote.
