New Virtual Religion and Society Catalogue
Transaction Publishers is testing two environmentally-
1. The company is deploying electronic announcements with a link to its new virtual Religion and Society catalogue to a large list of professors and librarians. The catalogue is in a searchable, interactive, page-flipping electronic format. The new format is a vast improvement over standard PDFs, allowing users to browse the electronic catalogue easily. Customers can still download a PDF or request a paper catalogue, if they choose.
2. Transaction will be mailing paper catalogues to only a select list of heads of religious studies departments, and requesting that the catalogue be shared among the institutions’
By reducing the number of paper catalogues mailed and increasing electronic distribution of new catalogue notifications, Transaction hopes to avoid sending paper catalogues to people who prefer electronic format, save paper, and reduce waste.
If this distribution method is effective, the company plans to put this method into effect for all future campaigns.
