Amazon explorer, wildlife lecturer, and author Rusty Johnson is throwing the world's most unique New Years Eve celebration, and you are invited. The 2010 "Watch the Coconut Drop" New Years Eve Jungle Celebration in the Peruvian Amazon, complete with Shamans.
Be one of the worlds few who enter 2010 celebrating the night away in an traditional Amazon village amongst the local people. Rusty Johnson is married to an Amazon native and has developed a wonderful connection with the local people. many of whom have become his family.
During the day swim with pink dolphins, monkey watch, meet native shamans, visit local villages, fish, observe birds (over 500 species), canoe, or just swing in a hammock.
In addition to attending the worlds coolest New Years Eve celebration, it is an extremely rare opportunity to be immersed in Amazon life and culture as a family guest, not a tourist.
For the "after party" on New Years Day, Rusty and his guests will travel to local villages giving malaria nets to the babies. Nearly 3,000 children die daily from malaria. Yet a simple mosquito net for them to sleep under can prevent Malaria as well as Dengue fever and Yellow Fever.

Rusty Johnson has assisted Jim Fowler of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and his television credits include Late Night with David Letterman, Regis and Kathy Lee, The Late Show with Conan O'Brien, and The Today Show. His lecture series at Princeton University has been rated to be the best of their Natural History Seminars.
He has also assisted the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service in capturing Bald Eagles for vital research, monitored environmental decimation on an actively volcanic island in the West Indies, and has also documented the dwindling elephant herds in the course of a 3,000 mile trek through southern Africa. In 1996, at the age of 25 he was one of the youngest people ever inducted into The Explorers Club.
