- This year I’ve added stories, says Eva. While chatting with a friend, I had shared anecdotes about the art for the 2009 calendar. The stories brought the art to life, bringing a whole new dimension to each image. We brainstormed about how to weave the stories into the calendar. I didn’t want to reduce the images nor the calendar squares, to make room for text. Luckily, this year’s art is either square or portrait, leaving room for snippets of story on the display pages.
When Eva paints, she seeks to enter that naturally creative state, where you let go and surrender to what is NOW. When you connect with the spontaneous flow of inspiration you become one with the flow. There are many ways to reach this state of being, such as meditation, toning, therapy, walks in nature or creative dance. All roads lead to Rome, or in this case to the state of I AM.
- Sometimes it feels light, Eva explains. Other times dark, it can be big or little, stormy or still. There is a sense of play involved, when you least expect it you’ve created art! I love to experiment with colors, to explore what happens if I use a brush, or why not a sponge, a credit card or my fingers? If emotions bubble up in the now, I paint them…
Eva suggest you let time stand still while you ponder the paintings. Let your eyes rest, let them float through the art, allow yourself to be swept away on a “walkabout”
- What makes intuitive art so exciting, Eva explains, is that you can get ten different interpretations from ten different people,. Try turning the images and discover something new when it’s upside down, or on it’s side…
