The Brooklyn Label Pioneers A New Breed of Hip Hop Record Label

The Brooklyn Label (www.TheBrooklynLabel.com) is pioneering a new form of independent Hip-Hop. The process of artists making music and a business with the same focus, is at the heart of this new venture.  Founded by two entrepreneurs seeking to create an environment free of the business concerns that constrain an artist’s creative process, The Brooklyn Label began by building a studio that feels like a home.  Built from the ground up, the utmost attention was placed on making the studio a comfortable, warm, and inviting place.  From the kindness and respect shown to the 19th century building the studio calls home, to the century old reclaimed lumber that makes up the control room desk, the founders sought to capture the atmosphere that is a new Brooklyn.  

With a signature sound of rich acoustic elements and lyrical flows not chopped, assembled, or auto-tuned, The Brooklyn Label’s sound captures emotions that can only come through in a live performance. By hand-picking musicians, lyricists, and producers from Brooklyn’s rich artistic community, The Brooklyn Label strives to make each of its groups into a one-of-a-kind musical creation.  In this new world of hip-hop it’s not just about sound, but content, saying something that withstands the test of time. MC’s signed to the label have lyrics with a message that is true, deep, and meaningful, producers kick beats that make heads bop, and musicians add a human touch to the groove.

The Brooklyn Label was born of a belief that the popular musical art form has been tarnished by a constant focus on making money. Following a philosophy that facilitates making music and not worrying about the cost, is at the core of every project that will come out of The Brooklyn Label. We have all heard the saying “if you make quality, the money will follow.”  The Brooklyn label is putting that notion to test. The time has come for a new approach to making music, a new way of working with artists, and a new sound to inspire listeners.
