Torres must somehow find the connection between these events and the unforeseen abandonment of the exiled boy, while keeping his own tortured past from taking over his life.

AC Martinez-Fortủn is a physician who has lived in Cuba, Spain, Ohio, and New York. Martinez-Fortủn decided to write a murder-mystery delving into the Cuban exile experience in Spain after being inspired by Cruz-Smith’s depiction of Soviet society during the Cold War in the novel Gorky Park.
