Recycle Hope in November

Local recycling drive to benefit Hope House

Oct. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Not sure what to do with your outdated cell phone or digital camera, used print cartridges or last season’s iPod? Donate them and have a direct and positive impact on the lives of women and children who rely on Hope House, a local provider of shelter and supportive services to over 10,000 victims of domestic violence each year.

Several conveniently located businesses and organizations in the Greater Kansas City area are hosting donation bins during the month of November for interested donators to drop off their recyclable items.  These locations include; the Englewood Police Station, Lee’s Summit Cleaners, O’Bryan’s, the MCC Longview Reentry Club, VML Baltimore location, RED Development, Hilton Garden Inn-Independence, Four Sisters Thrift Store locations and the Lee’s Summit Police Department.

Just one donated ink cartridge can provide one load of clean laundry for a family staying with Hope House…a small but significant comfort for a family trying to start a new life, free from abuse.  Items that can be donated include used print cartridges, cell phones, iPods, laptops, digital cameras and GPS devices.  Any donation, no matter the size, can make a difference.

This drive compliments the ongoing partnership between Global Re-Source Funding and Hope House. It’s an effort to raise awareness to interested donators, or those who may want to start their own collection site to benefit Hope House.  Interested businesses and individuals can become involved in this opportunity by donating at one of the listed collection sites, or contacting Global Re-Source Funding or Hope House to set up a collection site of their own. Or, find out more by going to www.hopehouse.net/go-green.

About Global Re-Source Funding
Since 1995, OPRA has been a worldwide industry leader in creating new opportunities to keep products out of landfills and back in the hands of consumers. Global Re-Source Funding was formed two years later as a subsidiary to head OPRA’s end-user collections.  The program pays participating organizations for used ink/toner cartridges, cell phones, iPods, digital cameras, GPS devices and laptops and offers several different promotions throughout the year in addition.  These items are then diverted from the landfills and sent to certified remanufacturing companies to be refurbished, lowering the depletion of resources required to manufacture new items. More information is available at www.GlobalRe-SourceFunding.com.
