Company To Highlight Sunday Drive Routes On Iphone Hopes To Revive Conservational Spirit In America

Web app details back road destinations with historical significance and designated OHV routes in hopes to rekindle spirit of conservation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 25, 2009 -
In the olden days, when the car was young, families would take a Sunday Drive to pass the afternoon touring. Now there’s a web app available on the iPhone for just that.
Jason Scott, C.E.O. of Sunday Drive, LLC stated “Our goal is to help preserve historical landmarks, designated off road venues, and parkways once built for Sunday Drives.”  Sunday Drive is the new web app available on iPhone which hopes to make people more conscious of these landmarks in their surrounding community by detailing routes specifically for touring back roads.   This web app not only shows you excellent routes in your community complete with photos, descriptions and video, but it also provides historical insight and inside information you can’t find elsewhere.
Sunday Drive is not loaded with functions since it is the version 1.0 beta release, in fact, it may seem like a ‘craiglist’ of iphone apps, however, what Sunday Drive lacks in features, it makes up for in content.  Sunday Drive provides awesome venues for family outings; hiking spots, historical locations, off-road destinations, little known restaurants, and some of the best parks and back road destinations known to man.  Simply put, Sunday Drive is many apps rolled into one for just one download of 99¢.  Unfortunately, routes are only available in Southern California but Jason does have a multi-pronged plan to roll out nationwide by January 1st.  One of these prongs is in the form of a Contest for College Students which runs until December 15th, 2009.  “We are giving away a MacBook Air, or for the students that already have one of those, a Cruise to Cabo for two during Spring Break” said Jason, “We feel that having College Students build Sunday Drives might go a long way to getting some of them involved in preservation activities”.
The web app itself is very easy to use, just click drives at the bottom of the map to select Sunday Drives listed with mileage relative to your location.  Select a route and go directly to the map or click the little blue circle on the right with the arrow for more information on the route.  A  page appears with a ‘Route Summary’ and individual boxes containing point of interest insight with a photo and information relative to that location.  At the bottom of the page is a short video preview which shows a view of the road and more photos. All in all it has a great user experience and the videos are pretty cool.
To be a part of the Sunday Drive Network, or for more information go to their facebook group page here. Jason Scott also has a blog site where he posts Sunday Drives he’s personally written about complete with photos.  http://www.sundaydrivenet.blogspot.com
