Alex Sheppard – called “brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!” by NME magazine – has opened for ex-Libertines frontman Carl Barat’s band Dirty Pretty Things, played at Latitude Festival and become a BBC Radio since relocating to London in 2007. Paris-born Axel Loughrey made it through to the second round of Orange Unsigned Act this year and has been praised by Channel 4’s Jo Whiley as well as a range of radio personalities. The upcoming and energetic Apollo 101 drop by to turn heads and win hearts with a slot at The Birdcage, and the musically delectable Adelaide’s Cape return to their hometown from Bristol after a sell out show at Norwich Arts Centre earlier in the year.
The Norwich Oxjam Festival is set to take place across six venues in the East Anglian capital and feature an astounding fifty acts. Venues include Dragon Hall, The Birdcage, Norwich Puppet Theatre, The Mustard Lounge, Norwich Arts Centre and The Marquee. The venues will open their doors to accommodate festival goers from 2pm to 2am, with wristband exchange happening from 12pm. One wristband priced at £9 covers entry to all fifty live performances across the city, and 100% of the day’s profits go to Oxjam.
