For all Reverse Phone Lookups, we used to go to a Private Investigator, not long ago. But those times are over now, you would straight away go to Google and type in "Reverse Telephone Number Search" or something in that line. Well, at least this is what I did when I got all those prank calls a couple of months ago. The first 5-10 websites that I went to asked for exorbitant amounts of money (one of the them asked for $199 I think) and then I saw a few reasonable ones and then I also saw one that was 'Free'.
'Free' - why pay when you can get it for free
At least that's what I thought. But then I noticed they only give limited information for free, like the region the cell phone is registered to (state, county, city) and the telephone carrier (Verizon etc.). None of them give you the phone owner's name or exact address for free. This is why I say that using the word 'free' is a scam, they won't give you ALL the information you want. I think they use that word just to attract people to their websites.

The one to keep away from
Then I saw another type of 'Free' telephone number search service. They will do a Free Reverse Phone Lookup on one condition. That is, you give them your mobile number together with your name and address. Especially with 50,000 identity thefts taking place every day in the USA, I wasn't prepared to give my information. I won't name the website here, but if you're willing to sacrifice your personal information in exchange to a reverse telephone lookup, by all means do a Google search and find such a website. But if I were you, I wouldn't waste my time on such websites.
