Medical Technical Products (MTP), a world leader in phacoemulsification technology for the surgical removal of cataracts, is unveiling a new phacoemulsifier at the 2009 AAO•PAAO joint meeting in San Francisco. This latest innovation in MTP’s product line strengthens its commitment to the development of affordable phacos with a focus on surgeons eager to serve cataract patients in emerging countries.
The Model 2000 Premium phaco builds upon the powerful, easy-to-use capabilities of its predecessors and exhibits attractive new styling, while maintaining MTP’s traditional tactile controls and high-visibility displays. A new U/S Cold mode has been added to further increase its surgical effectiveness in difficult situations, and the console’s enhanced appearance has drawn positive reactions from pre-announcement customers evaluating the Model 2000 Premium phaco.
MTP is exhibiting in booth 139 of the 2009 AAO•PAAO joint meeting in San Francisco, and has the Model 2000 Premium phaco available for demonstration and ordering. MTP is also seeking new distributors serving emerging economic markets around the world. MTP has already established itself as a market leader in China, and is increasing its presence in other parts of Asia and South America. Josh Rothman, MTP’s sales and marketing manager, is bullish on developments in both products and programs. “We’ve just reached our 25th anniversary milestone, and our momentum has been building rapidly over the past couple of years. The Model 2000 Premium phaco delivers what our most demanding customers have been requesting, and we’re confident that our momentum will further build far into the future.”
“We’ve been listening to our customers and working to advance the technology to meet those needs without the big price tags”, says founder and general manager, Jim Bakos. “The Model 2000 Premium phaco is our best product yet, with features that compete with any phaco at any price, yet designed for extraordinary simplicity and the lowest possible cost of purchase, use and ownership. We’re proud of our engineering team and eager to launch the Model 2000 Premium phaco at the AAO•PAAO meeting this weekend.”
