Follow on Google News | Ghoulish Growls and Haunted Howls…Trick or Treat at Camp Bow Wow® Covington’s Howlin’ Halloween Hoedown
By: Susan W. Morgan “This will be a Howl-o-ween to remember,” said Scarlett Dalton, co-owner and Top Dog of Camp Bow Wow Covington. “They’ll be tricks and treats for people and pups of all ages throughout the day. Make sure to stop by the Smooch a Pooch Booth, where for a $1 donation you’ll receive a one-of-a-kind smooch from our Bulldog, Cane.” All proceeds from the Smooch a Pooch booth will benefit the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation in support of their efforts to promote the health and welfare of dogs worldwide. Guests at the Howlin’ Halloween Hoedown can have family pup-traits taken by Sisters Pet Pics, purchase pet inspired oil paintings by Ted of Zorro’s; watch search and rescue demonstrations by the daring canines in blue from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office; learn more about pet safety from representatives of the American Red Cross; get a complimentary check on the state of Rover’s choppers at Dr. G’s Mobile Veterinary Clinic. Puppy parents can also tour the Camp and register for door prizes while their children play Pin the Tail on the Pup; compete in a Dog Treat Stacking Contest; and jump with a pack in the Bounce House and their pups try their paws at Bobbing for Hot Dogs. Add to your howliday look with a special Howl-o-ween inspired face painting between 11am and 1pm. Hungry humans and pups can satisfy their cravings with plenty of treats. Looking for the perfect pup-mate, visit START, the St. Tammany Animal Resource Team, which will be on hand with homeless pups looking for a new leash on life. DJ Steve Suter of WLMG, 101.9 will broadcast live from the Howlin’ Hoedown from 11am to 1pm. “Howl-o-ween at Camp Bow Wow is all about the dogs,” said Jason Dalton, co-owner and Top Dop of Camp Bow Wow Covington. “So get in the spirit, dress your mutts in masks and bring them down, even if they haven’t had a Camp Bow Wow interview yet. They’ll just have to remain leashed during the event. Pups who have passed their Camp interview will be welcome to romp in the play yards during the festivities. We’ll have plenty of Camp Counselors on hand to watch leashed pups while their parents tour our facilities.” For more information about the Howlin’ Halloween Hoedown at Camp Bow Wow Covington, or to schedule and interview day at camp, please call 985.893.9DOG or visit www.campbowwow.com/ About Camp Bow Wow® Where a dog can be a dog® Camp Bow Wow is the premier doggy day care and overnight camp in North America.
