Oct. 23, 2009 - PRLog -- MANCHESTER, N.H. – MobileFeat, LLC today announced its partnership with Climate Counts, an internationally focused non-profit organization launched with support from organics pioneer Stonyfield Farm, to develop Climate Counts’ new iPhone application.  The Climate Counts app will launch using MobileFeat’s platform, which leverages the features of the iPhone to bring organizations and consumers closer together for the purposes of sharing information and resources in the fight against global climate change.

Each year, Climate Counts publishes the Climate Counts Company Scorecard, which ranks companies on a 0-to-100 point scale based on their climate activities, giving consumers the opportunity to vote with their dollars.  “With our new iPhone application, shoppers will have our scores at their fingertips when and where they shop. This technology takes consumer advocacy to a new level – when consumers can get company climate information and quickly contact companies while they shop, the opportunity for them to have an impact on those companies is incredible,” says Wood Turner, Executive Director of Climate Counts.

The Climate Counts application will also allow consumers to put their own dollars to work in support of corporate climate action.  The application includes a built-in, mobile-optimized donation tool which allows supporters to make a donation directly from their iPhone, wherever and whenever they want.  Said Turner: “This is such a bonus to us as an organization, and it’s a key reason why we selected MobileFeat.  Not only can a consumer use the app to make informed choices about the companies they support, but they can also donate directly to Climate Counts and show us how much they value what our app does to increase climate change accountability among the biggest companies.”

The new application will also allow Climate Counts to better communicate with its community of conscious consumers via rapidly growing social networks like Facebook and Twitter.  “More and more of our supporters are connected via Facebook and Twitter.  We want to make it as easy as possible for our supporters to connect with us and each other to show their support for what we are doing,” adds Turner.

“We’re thrilled that Climate Counts selected us to be their partner on their new iPhone app.  Our platform is extremely versatile and can help organizations of all types to raise cause awareness, raise funds, and mobilize consumers.  It’s inspiring to work with a group whose cause is to mitigate the climate crisis and make people feel more invested in things that are happening in our world,” says Lauren van Heerden, MobileFeat’s Founder and President.  “While the iTunes App Store is loaded with games, we think this app leverages the real power of the iPhone – increasing mobile engagement and empowering mobile consumers.”

The free Climate Counts application will be available globally on the iPhone and iPod Touch.  Additional platforms will follow shortly thereafter.
