The GRE General Test is given year-round at computer-based test centres in the United States, Canada and many other countries. GRE test appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Here is how you can register for the GRE:
Step 1
Check for the availability of test centres on - http://etsis4.ets.org/
Step 2
Select the GRE date of your choice at this centre. Weekend GRE dates can be difficult to obtain. You can consider taking the GRE on a weekday, if you think that the available time suits you.
Step 3
You can contact the GRE test centre for registration by phone and give your details. Alternatively, you can fill in the online GRE registration form and send it to the official address of ETS. Both ways of registering for GRE are equivalent and it’s just a matter of your preference.
Step 4
Make the required payments for the GRE test. The online payment for the GRE is pretty secure, so you need not worry about credit card security, etc.
Step 5
Collect your GRE confirmation voucher number. Don’t forget to do this – since this will inform you that you have completed the GRE registration process successfully.
Step 6
Contact the GRE test centre and fix the appointment for your GRE exam. Remember to take traffic and other factors into account, while choosing the GRE appointment. You can’t afford to reach late or just in the nick of time for your GRE.
Once your GRE registration is over, you will receive a formal acknowledgement along with the GRE prep software for practicing for the GRE Exam.
You are allowed to postpone your GRE exam /a>!appointment or cancel it if you wish to do so. You may take the GRE General Test (computer-based and/or paper-based) only once per calendar month, and no more than five times within any 12-month period.
