Out-of-the-Box Pianist Jade Simmons Strikes Again with Halloween Inspired Trailer

Oct. 25, 2009 - PRLog -- Inspired by her love of horror movies and her fascination with the ties between genius and madness, Jade Media in association with Klemm Media have released Thin Line, a new "movie" trailer for Jade's debut CD Revolutionary Rhythm (E1 Music).  Complete with the usually glamorous pianist in a straight jacket, Thin Line shows Jade as she's never been seen before. Crazed, maniacal and obsessed, she bangs out the Fugue from Samuel Barber's piano Sonata while outside her cell, a frazzled psychiatric intern tries hopelessly to explain what has gotten the once revered pianist in such a frenzy.

With Thin Line, Simmons refused to go the normal route of classical music promotion and instead took her cues from the cinematic world that understands the importance of creating intrigue through exciting trailers. She also used the model set up by pop music promotion where artists continually feature singles well after the original release of an album. The soundtrack for Thin Line is music from Revolutionary Rhythm, including Russell Pinkston's TaleSpin, the Fugue from Barber's Piano Sonata and DBR's Hip-Hop Etudes featuring Hip-Hop beats produced by Jonathan Sanford and Simmons.

A spoof on a musician gone mad, Thin Line was produced with the Halloween season in mind and all in good fun. Nevertheless, it's important to Simmons, as an advocate for youth suicide prevention, that viewers also understand that mental illness is no laughing matter. To make sure Thin Line is more than just a CD promotion Jade Media has also created a public service announcement in honor of Mental Health Awareness month.

Jade's mission as a musician has been to blow past the boundaries set in Classical music. In addition to her traditional recitals featuring standard repertoire, Simmons performs concerts in alternative venues as well as music featuring electronics.
