Several groups participated in this protest, the “Stop Obama Now” Meetup group, the Santee/East County Tea Party Meetup Group, the Infidel Brotherhood Motorcycle Club (representing the Sons of Liberty Riders) and others informally.
Over 100 protests were scheduled for the weekend across the nation. In spite of the event being national, however, there was no apparent local coverage of the event by any of the news media. Pre-event coverage on the networks, and talk shows was practically non-existent. One protester even attempted to provoke the NBC personnel inside the building by shouting at them with a megaphone to “come out, you cowards, and face your critics,” but with no response from the personnel inside. The response from passersby and motorists to the protest, though, was largely positive, enthusiastic, even joyful.
