FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 22, 2009 -
United Senior Alert (www.unitedsenioralert.com) has announced they have been selected as a MediPendant™ dealer to service Connecticut’s Fairfield and Litchfield Counties, and New York State’s Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties, to offer the newly-introduced two-way medical alert system for elderly and disabled individuals to connect them instantly with a certified emergency medical technician (CMT) “Few companies in this area,” stated Dana Klesh, co-partner of United Senior Alert , “offer the nation’s only fully-monitored medical alarm system that allows the user to converse immediately with an CMT Operator directly through their medical alert pendant in a two-way fashion.”

Klesh, a co-owner of United Senior Alert in Brookfield, Connecticut, announced the company is now offering Medical Alert Concepts’ newly-introduced MediPendant™. “This is the first of its kind in the worldwide PERS (personal emergency response system) industry. The MediPendant™ offers a fully-monitored, 24-hour, two-way voice communication system that connects a medical alert pendant wearer directly with a certified emergency operator.”

The new MediPendant™ features a speakerphone encased in a pendant that can be worn around a person’s neck, on their wrist, or on a belt. “What’s most important about this new alert system,” explained Charles Colman, company co-partner, “is that the pendant wearer can be anywhere within 600 feet of the alert system’s base monitor to communicate with the CMT Operator. They can be inside or outside their home, and if they fall or become ill, they can speak directly into their pendant to a CMT to receive reassuring instruction and comfort.”

Klesh explained that, “The MediPendant™ is the first medical alert device that provides professional assistance at the touch of a button. There are no telephone numbers to look up, and no need to dial a phone. With this new two-way voice technology, all the pendant-wearer needs to do is press the button, and talk directly with a CMT Operator through that pendant.”

United Senior Alert’s Colman elaborated, “Most alert systems available today do not allow a fallen, injured or ill individual to talk directly with a medically-trained professional. With MediPendant™, the individual simply pushes the alarm button and a CMT Operator can give them instruction while assuring them that help is on its way. The pendant wearer can speak and listen directly through the pendant from anywhere within a 600+ feet line-of-sight range in or around their home. They can go about their lives almost anywhere inside or outside their home without restriction. No other PERS unit on the market today offers this capability. It’s a huge advancement for the PERS industry.”

HOW MEDIPENDANT WORKS

The MediPendant™ is distinctly different because it is not a stationary base unit that sits on top of a table or desk, and the pendant wearer must be near to it in order to respond. “With MediPendant™,” explained Klesh, “the wearer simply presses the large button on the pendant, and he or she is connected directly to a CMT Operator. The CMT will immediately dispatch medical personnel, a loved one, or anyone listed on the pendant wearer’s personalized contact list to rush to their aid. This is truly a tremendous advantage over other alert systems currently available.”

Created by the innovative Medical Alarm Concepts™ organization, the MediPendant™ has significantly enhanced the PERS concept with its new state-of-the-art technology. “The MediPendant™,” stated Colman, “has some similarity to other PERS units in that it utilizes a small pendant worn by the user. What makes it different is that other systems require the wearer to be close to the base of the unit to have a conversation with the attendant on the other end of the line. The MediPendant™ wearer can be within a radius 600 feet of the base unit to simply talk directly into the pendant vs. into the base unit.”

A highly-advanced system designed specifically to improve an individual’s independence, safety, mobility and peace of mind, while remaining in their home, the MediPendant™ is different because other systems provide two-way communication to an operator, but not through the pendant. Klesh explained, “This is the only device that offers such an advanced level of two-way communication with a medically-trained professional. In highly-serious emergency situations, the CMT Operator can also bridge a three-way communication between him or herself, the pendant-wearer, and the responding EMT-Emergency Medical Technician, who would be in route to the pendant-wearer’s aid. This is especially important when moments count and medical questions can be asked of the stricken person while the EMT is traveling to that individual’s home.”

United Senior Alert’s MediPendant™ is ergonomically designed and waterproof for comfort and use. It houses a large, easy-to-find emergency button; two-way audio speaker; microphone; and a range indicator light that alerts the user when he or she has moved out of the 600 foot monitoring range. It comes with belt, neck and wrist attachments to comfortably accommodate the daily activities of the individual wearing the MediPendant™.
