On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates will join heads of state and government invited by the German government for the national celebration.
Chaired by Nobel Peace Laureate Mikhail Gorbachev and the co-chairman of the summit, Walter Veltroni, the event is under the patronage of the Gorbachev Foundation and organized by the Permanent Secretariat of Nobel Peace Laureates Summits, based in Rome and Moscow, in cooperation with the City of Berlin. The event is hosted by Mikhail Gorbachev, the Governing Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit and Walter Veltroni.
