The SAS 70 certification was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to audit and report on the effectiveness of operations and controls of a service provider. Atlantic.Net’s Data Center control objectives were closely examined in the areas of organizational structure, administration, physical and environmental controls, and physical and logical security.  Atlantic.Net invested significant time and resources into the SAS 70 certification process to ensure the security, controls, and processes in its Data Center operations are closely followed and monitored. The audit also enhances Atlantic.Net's ability to support companies facing Sarbanes Oxely requirements when they outsource their data center needs through Server Colocation, Dedicated Hosting, or Managed Server Hosting.
