Jigsaw House, Norwich's newest and most exciting music management and marketing setup, is set to unleash a sprinkling of the talent on their roster with the help of folk duo Stars Of Sunday League at an inaugural Jigsaw House Presents night at Norwich Arts Centre on January 15th. Jigsaw House's earliest signings and flagship bands Adelaide’s Cape and Alex Sheppard will showcase exactly what got them noticed in the first place as support acts to the well-established London band.
Earnest folk will be the order of the day as Stars Of Sunday League’s headline with their Scottish-tinged acoustic ditties, fresh from work with anti-folk stalwart Emmy The Great. King Creosote's seat on the throne of Scottish folk is a little less comfortable now Stars Of Sunday League are on their merry way, and where better to see them than the humble Arts Centre surroundings.
The Scottish theme continues with Adelaide’s Cape and their ramshackle traveling folk. The now Bristol-based folk duo return to their former home city to make the night that little bit more special. There's a beautifully torn and evocative new EP on its way, all ready to be showcased on the night for you to fall for. Intricate doesn't quite do them justice.
Alex Sheppard is the sharp-tongued troubadour of the night; she’s sharper and wittier than most, but comes across sweet and innocent at the same time. Another graduate of the Norwich scene, London town now holds her hat and if she isn't milling with the great and the good she's out performing her observational musings at some of London’s premier venues.
Lauren Razavi of Jigsaw House is excited to say the least. “I'm thrilled to have Adelaide’s Cape and Alex playing with such a promising new band. It's important to all of us. They both deserve to be introduced to people and this is the perfect way to do that. Plus we get to enjoy Stars Of Sunday League for the evening, which I can tell you from seeing the band several times before, will be a real treat.”
The premier of Jigsaw House Presents is a sign of things to come, projecting the best local talent onto a national scale. Other bands on their roster include electro-popsters Apollo 101 and barnstorming blues singer Axel Loughrey. Jigsaw House launches its official website on November 1st, and it seems clear things are set to grow and grow while you patiently wait for the gig of the (next) year.
