The award was presented to EEC for its advanced approach to building energy efficiency, consumer education, and renewable contractor job training. EEC designs and installs integrated HVAC and renewable energy systems in retrofit and new home applications which provide far greater energy savings than conventional systems. They have donated time and expertise to help educate and train students involved in Goodwill’s Energy Workforce program and are involved in providing on the job training for graduates of a local community college’s renewable energy certification program.
EEC is in the final construction phase of its Platinum LEED demonstration home, located in Centennial, Colorado. Serving as a technology test bed for EEC’s integrated renewable HVAC designs and technologies, the home presents a new level for building science and sets a viable standard for low and net zero energy buildings. It has been selected as the demonstration home for the Energy Star Summit this December in Denver and is being used as an educational and training tool in the green building community. For more information on the home, visit the project website at http://www.platinumleedhome.com.
“We are very excited to have been nominated and recognized by the city of Centennial,”
