H.E.A.L with Hill Country Outdoors
Austin Outdoor Club Offers a New Monthly Hiking and Live Music Series
AUSTIN, Texas – October 22, 2009 – Hill Country Outdoors, Austin’s most active outdoor, sport and social club, announces a new monthly, hiking and live music series called H.E.A.L (Hike, Eat, And Listen). The monthly series will take place on the last Sunday of each month, combining all the things you love about living in Austin. Each month, we'll hike a nearby trail for 1-2 hours, then sit together to enjoy a tasty catered lunch, and be serenaded by one of Austin's fine singer/songwriters. Plus, all the proceeds raised will be donated to two Austin-based organizations working hard to protect our planet (locally & globally): Austin Parks Foundation & Rainforest Partnership.
“I’m so excited about this new H.E.A.L series,” said Bill Talbot, owner of Hill Country Outdoors. “It’s a great way to ‘heal’ yourself by getting outdoors, listening to great music from a local artist you may not have discovered yet, and supporting organizations that are working hard to protect our natural resources.”
The first H.E.A.L hike takes place this Sunday, October 25th from 10am – 1pm on the Barton Creek Greenbelt. This month's musical guest is Frank Hill. Frank is a triple threat: a gifted songwriter, a talented guitar picker, and one heck of a performer.
To register, go to the Hill Country Outdoors (HCO) website: www.hillcountryoutdoors.com, click on the Calendar link, then click on the H.E.A.L with HCO link to RSVP. Cost is $20 ($10 for HCO members) and includes hike, lunch & live music. All proceeds will be donated to Austin Parks Foundation & Rainforest Partnership. Space is limited.
