Reiki Treatment

Reiki is a complimentary healing practice which is being recognized more and more by our medical community. All over the world Doctors are recommending Reiki for pain management, infertility, emotional disorders, relief from cancer treatments and stress. Reiki has also been attributed to accelerated healing following surgery and injury. The US Army has recognized Reiki’s possibilities, and is willing to spend millions of dollars to research Reiki and other Bio-energy methods of healing. WHAT IS REIKI?
Most forms of Energy Healing make use of the concept of Ki, a form of vital energy that flows through the body. Free-flowing, abundant Ki is said to create health, while stagnant or deficient Ki is thought to lead to illness. The net result, according to the theory, is accelerated healing and increased wellness. Reiki is a technique for stress reduction which promotes healing. The knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things — humans, animals and plants — directly affecting the quality of health for all sentient beings, has been part of a wisdom of many cultures since ancient times. The existence of this “life energy” has been verified by recent scientific experiments and medical doctors around the world are accepting the role it plays in the functioning of the healing process. PTSD puts our mind body connection out-of-sync. Reiki helps to restore balance and the body’s ability to heal itself.
REIKI IN HOSPITALS
One of the first Medical Doctors to include a Reiki practitioner in his department at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City was Dr. Mehmet Oz. Dr. Oz is one of the leading cardiovascular surgeons in the United States. The New York Times Magazine reported that Dr. Oz has allowed the use of Reiki during open heart surgeries and heart transplant operations. Says Dr. Oz: “Reiki has become a sought-after healing art among patients and mainstream medical professionals.”
One does not have to believe in Reiki in order for it to work – the patient only has to be willing to heal.
PTSD CLINIC IN CARMEL
Suzi Ryan, owner of Vital Essence in Carmel, has graciously offered her business location to host the clinic. The PTSD clinic will be operating 1 day a week for 4 hours. Treatments will be approximately 20-30 minutes. Hours and days of operation will be extended if necessary. Contact Barbara for dates and times of operation. Please note that it is mandatory that the client continue with traditional medical treatment and their physician should be notified that they are receiving Reiki treatments. Reiki is a compliment to the treatments that are already being given - Reiki never replaces traditional medical treatment.
Barbara is encouraging Reiki Practitioners, Acupuncturists, Biofeedback practitioners, Yoga instructors, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists in the Hudson Valley area who are willing to volunteer, to please contact her.
