TM Lewin fell under criticism in May 2009 by Mary Portas of the Telegraph for being bad for ‘style, particularly in womenswear’. However TM Lewin has since been on the offensive, notching up its focus on womenswear and racking up rails of high fashion and high quality ladies clothing.
The new TM Lewin womenswear range includes key pieces such as the high waisted pencil skirt and the traditional rainmac, as well as the higher fashion puffed sleeve shirt and the ruffle shirts in the ‘Love Lewin’ range.
There has been a decided move to improve the ladies range within TM Lewin’s offering as this was an area of the market which definitely wasn’t being served in the past. Professional women are bored with the traditional trouser/ skirt suits and want to inject more colour and excitement into their work wardrobe.
The new ladies range caters for this shift, and as well as including these new more fashion focused work looks, introduces TM Lewin women’s accessories including the vintage leather bag, patent waist belt and a large range of ladies cufflinks including a bow cufflink and the new kitsch red cherry cufflinks.
TM Lewin are keen to ensure their ladies wear range becomes renowned for its style:
"T.M.Lewin is well known as a destination for high quality business wear at great value. We want to extend this to women's wear and become equally well known for quality and affordable business wear. The difference with women's business wear is that it is more fashion led so our collection picks up on key trends and seasonal colours."
