Laguna Beach, Calif., – Wells of Life, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing East African villages with clean, safe, and accessible water sources, proudly announces their first corporate sponsorship. Gulf Coast Western, an established Dallas based oil and gas exploration company, has committed $15,000 towards the creation of ten new water wells.
This donation kicks off the Corporate Sponsorship Plan, a plan in which corporations can come together with individuals, families, or private groups to sponsor the construction of a well. Each well is able to support a community of 1,000 individuals, with a construction cost of $3,000. Gulf Coast Western’s donation pledges half of the well sponsorship for the next ten wells to be built. This donation allows families and private groups to come together and sponsor a well for $1,500 instead of the regular cost of $3,000.
Through this donation, Gulf Coast Western hopes to inspire and urge other corporations and individuals to join the cause by raising awareness to the 1.1 billion people that do not have access to clean or safe drinking water. Gulf Coast Western’s President and CEO, Matthew H. Fleeger, states “Gulf Coast Western is enthused to reach out globally and support such an important cause that has the ability to change lives in East Africa. We feel that it is our obligation as humans to help others, both in the US and abroad.”
“For East African villages and impoverished nations worldwide, water represents much more than just a basic human necessity. Universal access to clean and safe drinking water allows such communities to take the first step towards peace, prosperity, progress and health” says Mr. Fleeger. “Organizations such as Wells of Life and corporations such as Gulf Coast Western recognize the ability to transform lives with the gift of water and aim to inspire others to join the cause.”
Nick Jordan, co-founder of Wells of Life, is thankful to receive Gulf Coast Western’s support in order to continue bringing positive change to Africa. “Gulf Coast Western makes it more affordable for private parties to deliver the lasting gift of access to water for underprivileged communities. As a result of this partnership, over 10,000 individual lives will be forever changed and gifted with water. Bringing together conscientious corporations, such as Gulf Coast Western and private parties that care, builds a dynamic alliance that has the ability to change the world” states Jordan.
Wells of Life has currently established more than forty wells, allowing over 40,000 East African individuals to enjoy clean and safe accessible water in their communities. The organization’
