FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) –
Oct 21, 2009 – Traverse City, Michigan
e-SupplyLink (www.e-SupplyLink.com) announces the upcoming release of SOMLink™, a suite of analytic and order management tools designed to automate suppliers' compliance with DEA 21 CFR 1301.74b.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors are required by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration to, "design and operate a system to disclose to the registrant suspicious orders of controlled substances." Suspicious Orders are generally described as having a significant deviation in Order Size, Order Frequency, or Order Pattern.
Rigorous statistical analysis of baseline order history for each controlled substance and each shipping destination is recommended to meet the DEA requirements, and avoid triggering "false positives" common to monthly averaging techniques.
SOMLink™ automatically reviews each new Order, applying analytic tests and comparisons with the buyer's order history to flag any orders that meet criteria for being suspicious. Once flagged, suspicious orders are placed on hold, pending review and resolution by account managers.
Benefits of SOMLink™ include seamless integration to suppliers' existing Financial/ERP via XML, automatic notification of flagged orders via email, including notice of cause. SOMLink™ maintains a permanent record database for reporting verification activities, updates, and final disposition of flagged orders. The SOMLink™ repository is supplier-managed, and in compliance with DEA mandates.
e-SupplyLink works closely with suppliers to adapt and optimize the SOMLink™ template to their specific requirements.
