PONCHA SPRINGS, Colo. October 14, 2009- Internationally acclaimed natural horsemanship trainer, Julie Goodnight, recommends a new natural product to get rid of barn and pet odors. Bye Bye Odor™ by Spalding Laboratories is a highly concentrated, safe, microbial solution especially formulated to reduce or even eliminate a wide range of organic odors associated with animal urine and manure.

“Like most horse people, I love my animals, but sometimes they really stink,” Goodnight says with a laugh. “I’ve used Bye Bye odor in the stalls to freshen the smell of the barn and also my 10-month-old puppy's areas., It doesn’t just cover it up smells, it eliminates them. I can vouch for it—it really works.”

That “Stall Smell” from the urine is actually ammonia from urea. Not only does it smell bad, but continuous exposure to ammonia is actually dangerous for the health of the animal and for the people who spend time around them. Bye Bye Odor microbes, when wet, consume and breakdown the urea and other organics that cause the unpleasant smell and unhealthy ammonia build up from confined animal urine and waste.  Rather than covering up the smell, these Bye Bye Odor microbes eliminate it, so there is remarkably little smell at all.

To use the new product, simply spray the stall or kennel daily with enough to give the bedding or floor an even misting. In horse stalls with deep bedding, first remove the urine saturated bedding and spray liberally around those same wet areas. Within three to five days of daily application the unpleasant smell will be gone. Eliminating these smells can also help reduce fly populations in barns and kennels, as flies that reproduce away from those areas are attracted to those buildings by odors.

One 4 oz bottle of Bye Bye Odor super concentrate (MSRP $19.95) treats 5 horse stalls or a 30-dog kennel for one month. For larger facilities a 32 oz bottle is available for $119.95 that makes 24 gallons and will treat a 40-horse barn for one month. Once opened and mixed with tap water, Bye Bye Odor must be used within 60 days.
