Fluid Transfer Options to be AdvantaPure(R)’s Emphasis at the ISPE Annual Meeting

AdvantaPure, a leading manufacturer of high-purity tubing and single use process systems for pharmaceutical and bioprocess applications, will exhibit at ISPE’s 2009 Annual Meeting. ISPE (International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers) will host this event at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, CA, from November 8-11.

AdvantaPure will showcase its fluid transfer hoses made from platinum-cured silicone, fluoropolymer, and EPDM. The hoses are used to transfer pure water, chemicals, and other liquids used in drug manufacturing processes. AdvantaPure’s products are characterized by their smooth inner surfaces, wide range of temperature usage, durability, and utility.

Other items AdvantaPure will highlight at the show are single use process systems. These consist of molded silicone manifolds and its BioClosure(TM) systems designed to be used one time and then discarded. Single Use Systems, also known as SUS, alleviate concerns about cleaning procedures and validations, cross contamination, and the speed at which systems can be replaced.

Manufactured from biopharmaceutical grade elastomer, AdvantaFlex(TM) tubing addresses other needs of pharmaceutical and biotech industries. It, too, will be on display at the ISPE meeting. AdvantaFlex is heat sealable, weldable, and offers excellent life in peristaltic pumps. It provides single resin validation and eliminates the need to attach other tubing materials for media filling and sampling applications involving peristaltic pumps.

Another area of concern for today’s pharmaceutical engineers and processing personnel is identification. Distinguishing one hose or process component from another is critical where drugs are involved. Detailed records must be maintained, and traceability is essential.
