Oct. 21, 2009 - PRLog -- The Kensington Roof Gardens in London was the recent spectacular setting for the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) 2009 industry Awards held on Wednesday 14th October.  An accounting industry awards ceremony to celebrate top achievers and role-models in enterprise, for recognition of contribution to the governing body, and the accounting industry it represents as a whole.

Guests, spokespeople and winners included; Dragons Den entrepreneur Theo Pathitis receiving special recognition for “Contribution to UK Enterprise”, Julie Meyers of Dragon’s Den Online as guest awards presenter, BBC’s The Apprentice star Maj Nagra, and Adam Shaw formerly from BBC’s Working Lunch amongst other top business professionals.

The IFA, primarily aimed for Small to Medium Enterprises and Practices, presented numerous awards categories from Best International Training Centre to Business Entrepreneur of the Year, with 1st 2nd 3rd positions rated as “winner”, “highly commended” and “finalist” respectively:

Tony Surridge, an accountancy lecturer with over 30 years’ experience, and a director of the new accounting industry website http://www.tonysurridge.co.uk, was awarded the top prize in his category, winning “Best UK Accountancy Lecturer 2009”.  Presenting the award to Tony was Chief Executive of the IFA, David Woodgate, and Nicole Johnson, the category sponsor from CCH Walters Kluwer.

Tony Surridge was a successful winner along with many other reputable companies and individuals nominated from the other categories, including Dr. Dak Patel of London SAM for “Business Entrepreneur of the Year” and Theo Pathitis from TV’s Dragons Den.

Nick O' Reily, a spokesperson for one of the category sponsors – Vantis BR, as a separate notice, publically thanked Tony Surridge for his dedication and long contribution to the accounting education industry, having personally taught beside him 20 years previously.  He said it was great to see that Tony’s standard of lecturing remains as high today as it was 20 years ago, and his recognition thoroughly deserved.

For next year, it was suggested that Tony Surridge also be put forward for “Best Accountancy Website” in light of the coveted launch of his new resource website: http://www.tonysurridge.co.uk.  

Tony has won a number of awards over the years, and he appreciates every one.

INFORMATION ABOUT TONY SURRIDGE
Tony Surridge is an accountancy lecturer with over 30 years experience in the industry, tutoring international students, preparing them for their exams in Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), as well as the Institute of Marketing (IM) and other first degrees.
