Wisconsin party fun rock-n-roll band GUPPY EFFECT released their download-only indie rock single "Becca" via all major online music stores, including AMAZON and iTUNES, on Wednesday, October 21, on the eve of their much-hyped show opener with New Orleans indie rockers COWBOY MOUTH on Thursday, October 22.
"Cowboy Mouth is one of the best party rock bands of all time," said Cactus Joe, the energetic front man and bassist for GUPPY EFFECT. "This show is going to be one of many dreams come true for me and my band. I pity anyone who can't make this show."
The single "Becca" is a simple song of unrequited love that runs the dynamic gamut from gentle ballad to full throttle indie rock song. GUPPY EFFECT recorded "Becca" at Smart Studios in Madison, WI in November of 2008, and they have offered it on their web site as a free downloadable demo song in the past. "We spent a lot of studio time and effort on the song 'Becca,'" said Cactus Joe. "We figured it was time to release it to the world, and not just our web fans, because it rocks. We have only released it as an online download, since no one really buys CD singles anymore, but attendees of the Cowboy Mouth show will be able to get a rare, signed, copy on CD for free at our merchandise table, just for stopping by."
