TEMPE, AZ – What started as a neighborly request to help celebrate Tempe Town Lake’s 10th birthday on Dec. 12 has turned into an engineering feat for Cookies From Home’s Susan and Barry Brooks, as they approach the task of creating a replica of Tempe Town Lake, made entirely from their all-natural, from-scratch cookies. The creation will be auctioned at the event to benefit 36 area charities supported by the Tempe Community Council.
“The idea of doing a giant replica of Tempe Town Lake in cookies evolved as we were invited to help with the celebration,”
The cookie clone will be created exclusively with Cookies From Home’s drool-worthy cookie flavors and the finest ingredients, in a combination of specialty baked dough formed into shapes and traditional cookies.
This won’t be the first time Barry Brooks has rolled out a cookie art masterpiece. He has created a monumental 6-ft. tall Lady Macbeth, as well as a likeness of former Arizona Gov. Rose Mofford and Congressman Harry Mitchell.
