Below is a reprinted post, titled Dreaming of Paradise with Help of Surround Speakers, from the Laptop Computer Plus blog, to show off an example of what is being said within this social network:
When I fall asleep at night sometimes I like to leave the surround speakers on playing some soft calming music or natural sounds. I’m sure you have seen those nature albums for sale online stocked with sounds of a meandering brook, misting waterfall, jungle noise collection and whatever people consider to be relaxing. Well, I don’t own any such albums but I do have a station through my cable service with these sorts of sounds. Last night, after turning all the lights off, I flipped on this station and surround speakers immediately started playing some sounds of an exotic paradise. There were sounds of fluttering birds wings, swaying trees, a nearby river beating around embedded rock and the humming of insects.
After about fifteen minutes of listening to this, I dozed off and sure enough I dreamt of being in a tropical paradise, lying on the beach amongst a community of people who left the conveniences of modern life behind for simple survival in a postcard location. I think this stemmed from watching The Beach the day before. Surround speakers worked perfect for an unconscious trip to paradise. I suggest trying this out next time counting sheep doesn’t work.
