Oct. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Chonise Tate and Linda Hale of Strayer University are the recipients of the E-Scholar Award.

The E-Scholar Award is awarded by The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an honors organization for high-achieving first- and second-year college students.

The E-Scholar Award is a new scholarship created by NSCS to help defray the cost of education for members who attend an online university such as Strayer University, Kaplan University and Baker College.

Hale is a senior majoring in accounting, Tate is a junior majoring in Business Management and Finance. Both returned to school after receiving their Associates Degrees.

“We realize the struggle that many non-traditional students face and that this group can sometimes be overlooked,” said Cynthia Uguru, Scholarships Manager. “This is the first year for the E-Scholar Award, and we hope to continue to offer this scholarship and develop others for nontraditional students in the future.”

NSCS also offers scholarships for community service, graduate school, community college, study abroad, and other general scholarships.  Visit www.nscs.org/scholarships for a full list of scholarships.
