In a recent article posted by InsuranceAgents.com, “Car Crash Nightmares: Collision Minus Insurance Equals Trouble,” drivers who are insured are able to protect themselves on the road against those who choose to not properly insure themselves or their vehicles. While only minimal coverage is need to legally be on the road that coverage wont cover damage if involved in an accident. If you are in an accident with an uninsured driver, it’s up to you to get as much information from the driver as possible to give to your insurance company. “Depending on who is at fault and what was damaged, your insurance company will reimburse the damage to your car but probably at the expense of your premiums. You will want to consider a lawsuit against the uninsured driver in this case,” states the article.
Not all drivers take the time to properly insure their vehicles, so in order to stay safe on the road, make sure you have an auto insurance policy that has your back in case you find yourself in an accident with an uninsured driver.
